It’s finally here. In three hours I’ll be the master of the universe.
At some point this afternoon, my cable will get shut off, and it won’t come back on again until the 30th. That’s tragic. I need to switch my Twitter settings from IM to phone so I can have some contact with the outside world!
Tomorrow is moving day, and then Sunday and Monday I’ll be unpacking. For the sake of OIM and my freakin sanity, a trip to somewhere with WiFi will be necessary at least once.
My cat has started to sense that something is up. The last time the livingroom was full of boxes she was stuffed into a cat-crate for 3 days and hauled across the country. Anything that I pick up is the devil and deserves a fierce hiss; cups, the broom, a bottle of Febreze. It’s adorable. She is going to hate my face for the next couple weeks.

Pending a 10 day period to review and approve of the association bylaws and regulations, I’m going to be a condo owner by the end of April.

Well, I put an offer on this today. I’ll know in a few days if it’s accepted.
Edit: link removed, it looks like the posting is gone. I’m told it’s still available, so there’s still a chance.

Last night’s Rollergirls bout was awesome. It was the first time I’ve been to one, and it was better than any other sports event I’ve ever been to. Course, half of the excitement came from how close we were to the edge of the action! Aaron has some good pictures!
How many times did they crash into our laps? I don’t know, but it was a lot. There was some beer spilled! Twice! You’ll have to use your imagination, because I’m too lazy to write anything else.
Taylor and I took a quick seat on the chairs the girls use throughout the bout. In the first shot, a little girl danced/pranced her way into the shot. The second shot came out kinda blurry, but it’s still pretty tight, yo.

If there’s one thing that most people know about zombies, it’s that zombies eat brains. Just take the three-year-old niece of my dear friend Patra; when questioned on the dietary habits of your average North American zombie, she scrunches her peachy little face and responds, “braaaaaaaiiins.” I hear it’s pretty cute.
It’s a much lesser known bit of trivia that zombies love drinks. That’s why the Second Annual Zombie Pub Crawl wasn’t just about dressing up like super disgusting re-animated dead bodies, it was also about drinking. And drinking a lot.
Angie and I didn’t really have any brains on Saturday – the liquor-laced Jello brain mold was gone, go figure – but we did have several beers and several shots. And most importantly, we had these many drinks with some really fun people.
The turn out was great. The STrib figured around 250 zombies, but there’s no way that’s accurate. Throughout the night there was well around 400+ in attendance, and that’s not even counting those damn pirates.
But it’s not just numbers that were important, it was the coolness of everyone who showed up. Just look at the pictures. This was a really good group of slightly unstable folks.
Why quality over quantity? Well, you probably don’t know this about me, but I’m on this new diet. I’m only taking in good vibes. A few days ago I was sitting in my cube at work, reviewing the “ENEMIES LIST” that I’ve got hanging up in the sightline of everyone who walks by and I thought to myself, “I should really only be dealing with cool people.” That might sound like some new age hippie self help bullshit, but that’s what I’m doing. Nothing but people with good vibes, alive or un-dead.
So along with many drinks and no brains, Angie and I also devoured a smorgasbord of good vibes at the Zombie Pub Crawl.
Oh, and speaking of good vibes, you might not know this, but someone gets a little mouthy when she’s had a few drinks.

After breakfast at the Dinkytowner around 10am, we headed to the Jug Band house to start making the blood, flesh and preparing our makeup. It took everyone about three hours to perfect their makeup and costume. Everyone looked fantastic. When we got to the park, there were already people there. Unlike last year, it did not take an hour to build up a large crowd; within about 15 minutes, there were close to 100 people in the park. By 4:00pm, my estimate is around 250-300.
The crowd was immense, and we could not fit into one bar, so we immediately split into two, and then three, and I’m pretty sure there was a fourth. We were stopping at bars not originally on the itinerary simply because we couldn’t all fit inside one bar. Totally insane. A few of us would leave one bar earlier than others, so we could get a place to sit.
The night was a total success, and the ZPC[STD][ZPC] (I don’t know what to call it) should be very proud of the turnout, and the fact that nobody got out of control, nobody was arrested, nothing was broken, and everyone had a great time.

This weekend was pretty awesome, but I am glad it’s all over. It was one gathering after another, and while I loved seeing everyone, sitting here in my apartment, watching Disc 2 of The Early Days is absolutely perfect.
In addition to the below pictures, I can sum up the reunion pretty easily; It was a lot of fun, everyone that was cool in high school is still cool, and those that weren’t… well, they still aren’t. The rest of us had a really good time, and I even danced.
See the rest at my flickr account…
When I returned home, there were almost 40 Overheard submissions waiting in my email. I have never received that many during a weekend, and I know it’s attributed to the WCCO news broadcast on Friday afternoon. It’s so exciting!

The last ten years both dragged by painfully, and zipped by in a blur. Sometimes, at the same time. It’s a decade that’s left me a lot to talk about, most of which I won’t be talking about at my reunion. Well, until I get a couple of beers in me, anyway. It’s 50% wanting to see what some of my old friends are up to, and 50% morbid curiosity. You know what I’m talking about.
It will be interesting to see who has changed the most, and who has stayed exactly the same. One or two are certainties of arrested development, but there could be a few surprises.
I suspect the three day weekend will provide me with a goldmine of Overheards, so I’m really looking forward to that.
At the very least, I’ve got a great dress and a killer pair of shoes.
