All this obsession with Sarah Palin has plenty of people exasperated and worried about whether or not it’s pulling attention away from McCain and his own readiness to lead the country. While I agree that people are focusing on her too much, the circus she brought to town is pretty indicative of how ready McCain is to be President.
His clear ambitions are to win the election. Beyond that, it doesn’t appear that gives a flying rat’s ass about this country or its residents. His judgment in choosing Sarah Palin makes it pretty clear, and that has been confirmed by some GOP supporters. When the pick was announced, people on both sides deemed the choice “genius” because he picked a woman.
That’s it.
It was a tactic. A strategy. Like becoming President is a game of chess. Ever since then we’ve watched Republican reps dance around direct questions about her experience, give opinions in her defense that directly oppose things they’ve said about other people, and hurl accusations of sexism when anyone wants to know WTF. It’s all pretty obvious that nobody can really come up with anything substantial to use in her defense.
I just can’t stress this enough: Sarah, when you reiterate Alaska’s proximity to Russia as being an example of your foreign policy experience (TO CHARLES GIBSON), you are seriously coming off like a 7th grader who didn’t finish the book but tried to write the book report anyway. Stop it. You and the people who keep telling you to stick to that point are idiots.
I’m just extremely disappointed that so many people fell for his “tactic”. We’re in a heap of shit over here and everyone is patting him on the back because he’s taking this election only as seriously as he has to in order to win.
All that tells me that he’s just royally unqualified to represent me, or anyone else. John McCain is clearly here to represent John McCain.
And no, Middle-class America, Obama doesn’t want to raise your taxes. No, he’s not lying. Stop telling me that, I’m going to punch you.
