Off limits! Except when I want to talk about it

Joe Biden recently asked, ”If you care about [children with developmental disabilities], why don’t you support stem cell research?”  Yes, it’s a controversial topic, but that’s a pretty valid criticism. The McCain camp jumped on him, calling this a “new low” and an “offensive debate”. Ben Porritt, a McCain spokesman says, “Playing politics with this issue is disturbing and indicative of a desperate campaign.” They accused him of directing that at Sarah Palin.

Oh, please. Are you new around here? If she had anything valid to talk about, she’d have done an interview by now, they wouldn’t have her keep repeating the same crap about the Bridge to Nowhere, and they would stop reminding us that her foreign policy experience comes from how close Alaska is from Russia. That’s a punchline, people. Not a talking point. That shit is paper thin and they keep putting in their ads. She told the congress, yes please on that Bridge to Nowhere. Oh, wait. It’s a bad idea and could be political suicide? Well, then thanks but NO THANKS! But I can keep this money, right?

Desperate is picking a VP after a brief phone conversation because you knew choosing a woman would spice things up. A lot of women out there are pissed that Hillary didn’t get the nomination. Win their votes by picking a pretty lady. Forget the fact that when the games are all over, there’s going to be a this big, diverse, heavily populated country full of human beings that need someone in office that gives a shit about them, their jobs, the economy, the people losing their lives in Iraq, and a better source of energy. If McCain actually believed the “country first” BS he keeps spitting out, he would have chosen a Vice President that is actually qualified to assist him and possibly lead this country should his health fail him.

Desperate is attempting to shut down any type of criticism by using her gender as a weapon and claiming it sexist or offensive (coughMicheleBachmanncough). Which I think is sexist and offensive.

Desperate is also attempting to deflect criticism of her teen daughter’s pregnancy by claiming it’s a family issue and should remain private, but non-Republicans are fair game, amiright, Bill O’Reilly?. Oh, and then trotting her family out in speeches, presumably as an example of what has shaped her qualifications.

So, as long as you don’t criticize her lack of experience or address her stance on issues, you’re good to go. What’s left to talk about? Her lipstick? I hate it.

  1. Right on. I hate it too. I wish I never knew she existed.

  2. I love it when you go off. That’s a beautiful rant.

  3. Krissy, hopefully we’ll get back to that very soon.

Thanks, Erica! Jeremy just rolls his eyes now; he’s so sick of listening to me rant about it.
