As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I had a brief phone conversation with a reporter at the Star Tribune, and I’ve been keeping an eye out for that to appear on their website since then. So far, no luck.
Last week, I was contacted by The Rake with a few questions about what I’ve learned, what’s been the most fun, etc, and was informed that a short piece would appear in their August issue, which came out today. Four thumbs up.
At the risk of sounding ungrateful, which I am absolutely not, I am confused why the questions I answered and the comments I made during the Strib “interview” are actually what made it to the Rake piece… and what I answered for The Rake did not.
At any rate, it was a good piece, and I’m excited to see that stuff in print.

Re: Rake Article: Wow, well written… but you spend how long every day on the site?!?!
From the time I get home, until I go to bed. Between going through submissions, tweaking the visual layout, and coming up with more ideas for it, around 5-6 hours.
Dedication. Seriously.
It’s a necessary evil, eh Ang, heehee.
Site(s) looks great btw. (Unno and OIM).
That it is, JP. That it is. (you’re so clever! hur hur) But it’s also a lot of fun.
Thank you =)
After some emailing, my guess is that Deb Rybak, like another Rake author, just went with a pen name. Maybe the STrib didn’t want to print it, so she turned to the Bartel Cartel? She did do that horrible write up on Bartel2.0.
